Hirohiko Araki is one of the many manga artists who took part in “EXHIBITION TOGASHI YOSHIHIRO -PUZZLE-” which celebrates the Hunter x Hunter mangaka’s 35th anniversary in the business. For his part, Araki chose to draw Yusuke Umerashi and even gave the Yu Yu Hakusho protagonist his trademark Reigun. Check it out below.
It’s truly a unique take on a classic character from Togashi’s beloved manga. At this point, we’re loving the idea of a huge Yu Yu Hakusho and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure crossover. Although it’s unlikely that a crossover is happening, fans can still look forward to the live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series that will air on Netflix. It has already been confirmed that Tokyo Revengers actor Takumi Kitamura will play Yusuke Urameshi. The project will reunite Kitamura with director Sho Tsukikawa, who he previously worked with on the live-action adaptation of Yoru Sumino’s novel I Want To Eat Your Pancreas. Yu Yu Hakusho first aired in October 1992 and is based on the manga by Yoshihiro Togashi. The anime follows the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while attempting to save a child’s life. Yusuke undergoes several tests in the afterlife and is revived then appointed an Underworld Detective. His job investigating supernatural cases puts him in the path of an old schoolmate Kazuma Kuwabara, the fox demon Kurama, and the sword-wielding fire demon Hiei who help him with the investigations. The Yu Yu Hakusho live-action series is expected to debut on Netflix in December 2023. Meanwhile, Togashi’s exhibition in Japan will run from October 28, 2022, to January 9, 2023.
