When Is Enola Holmes 2 Coming to Netflix?
Back in May 2021, Netflix officially confirmed that a sequel to the first movie is in the works. Enola Holmes 2 will bring back Millie Bobby Brown as the young detective, Enola Holmes. This is such a welcomed change of pace for the actress given her iconic Stranger Things role. Filming started in October 2021 and lasted until January 2022. Cavill actually revealed that he finished his final day in late November. He is playing Enola’s older brother, the famous Sherlock Holmes. Netflix released a teaser clip on Twitter where it gave the first clue on Enola’s next great adventure. So when can we expect Enola Holmes 2 to be released? Netflix revealed on August 18th that the movie will be released on Friday, November 4, 2022. You’ll be able to watch it by 12 am PT or 8 am UK time. The Enola Holmes 2 release date is a slight deviation from the first movie release, which was done in September. But still, knowing its release date gives us something to look forward to. Along with the release date announcement, Netflix shared some first look photos from movie stills.
How Many Enola Holmes Movies Are There?
At this point, there’s no confirmation yet on whether there will be a third movie. But considering there are a total of nine books under The Enola Holmes Mysteries, there’s a lot of material to source from. It’s possible that the decision to make a third movie will depend on the public’s response to the second movie. We’ll have to wait until Enola Holmes 2 gets released to see if the producers come up with a decision regarding the movie’s future.
What Is Enola Holmes 2 About?
Netflix released the official synopsis for Enola Holmes 2. It reads: “Enola Holmes takes on her first case as a detective, but to unravel the mystery of a missing girl, she’ll need help from her friends – and brother Sherlock.” If you’re a fan of The Enola Holmes Mysteries novels, it sounds a lot like the second book, The Case of the Left-Handed Lady. In the book, Enola tries to track down Lady Cecily Alistair on her own. It’s possible that this could be the inspiration behind the second movie. But we can’t really expect an exact adaptation from the book. When the first movie ended, Enola bid goodbye to Tewkesbury. She also got briefly reunited with her mother Eudoria (played by Helena Bonham Carter) before leaving to continue the fight for women’s rights. With her brother in charge, Enola is now in London and does odd jobs as an amateur detective.
Who’s in Enola Holmes 2 Cast?
Of course, Enola Holmes 2 won’t be the same without the main stars. And that obviously means Millie Bobby Brown will be back to reprise her role. In an interview with EW, MBB shares that her role as Enola Holmes “may be the most important moment in my career so far because it’s something that I developed.” Henry Cavill is also confirmed to return for his role as Sherlock Holmes. There’s no word yet whether Sam Claflin will be returning as the third Holmes sibling, Mycroft. At this point, it seems unlikely, unless he makes an appearance in the trailer. The other main actors that will be part of this movie include the following:
