Recently, One Piece teamed up with the iconic German car marque for a commercial along with a special exhibit and collab café in select Mercedes shops in Japan. First, check out the official commercial here: This commercial is already funny enough on its own as it features a recreation of Shanks and Luffy’s iconic scene from the first chapter. But instead of Shanks giving his hat to Luffy, he gives it to the 2023 Mercedes Benz EQB. Not to be outdone, New World Arthur on Twitter released an edited version of the commercial featuring See You Again from Furious 7. Check it out here: As expected, fans were quick to roast this new edit for how ridiculous it is. After all, no One Piece fan expected Shanks to be driving an EQB to the tune of See You Again. Aside from roasting the quality of the edited commercial, fans have also joked about how the new collab is a massive spoiler. Specifically, some fans shared online that the One Piece is actually an EQB. While it’s a funny and unexpected collab, the exhibit in select Mercedes Benz stores is cool. Specifically, a Mercedes EQB with a special One Piece wrap is displayed in the Mercedes me Osaka, Roppongi, and Shinagawa branches. Aside from the car, the exhibit also features drawings by Eiichiro Oda for the film. On top of this, a special collab café menu is also available in the Mercedes me café. The menu items include themed drinks, meals, and even a Gum-Gum Fruit dessert. Details about the collab can be found on the collab website. One Piece Film: Red is the fifteenth feature film in the series, and it will release in Japanese cinemas on August 6, 2022. The movie will then get an international release, with confirmed theatrical runs in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, and more.
