One Take News has reported that Shazam! Fury of the Gods will have a runtime of 2 hours 10 minutes or 130 minutes including the credits. If this ends up being the final number, it will be around two minutes shorter than the first film which had a runtime of 132 minutes. So far, Warner Bros. has not confirmed the alleged runtime although the report also claimed that the theater chains are going to advertise it as a 130-minute film so there is a strong likelihood that this information ends up being true. Compared to the other DCEU films in their entirety, it is pretty much an average runtime since some of them also toyed with a length of shortly more than two hours like recent films such as Black Adam and last year’s The Suicide Squad.
Obviously, the runtime doesn’t give us any clue about the quality of the film or what we can expect from it. However, it does say that it is likely to have a regular pace in its storytelling and it followed the page of the first film, which had a very similar runtime. The sequel will continue the story of teenage Billy Batson who, upon reciting the magic word “Shazam!” is transformed into his adult superhero alter ego, Shazam. David F. Sandberg returned to direct the follow-up. The cast includes Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Rachel Zegler, Djimon Hounsou, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, and Grace Fulton. Also Read: Shazam!
