It has been known that the first season adapted the first novel in the main Grisha trilogy with some bits and pieces from Six of Crows. It also remixed the source materials. so the characters could interact for the first time, and the same thing might be done in Shadow & Bone Season 2.
The Stories Shadow & Bone Season 2 will Adapt
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunners Eric Heisserer and Daegan Fryklind revealed they would be adapting “multiple books” for the second season. “We touch on a few others in Leigh’s catalog,” Heisserer said. “There’s a piece that’s integral to the story that was Daegan’s idea that I’m particularly excited about. Alternatively, Fryklind revealed she didn’t think Bardugo saw her pitched idea coming. Aside from Siege and Storm, Shadow & Bone Season 2 will cover Siege and Storm and some events from Ruin and Rising, the finale to the trilogy. There will also be more elements from the Six of Crows duology, proven by Wylan’s (Jack Wolfe) presence, though in ways that fans will never expect.
What will Happen in Shadow & Bone Season 2?
Shadow & Bone Season 2 will continue where the previous season left off. The main characters are now together on one ship, though their paths differ. Alina is left with Mal (Archie Renaux), while Kaz (Freddy Carter), Inej (Amita Suman), and Jesper (Kit Young) are busy planning to get out of their troubles. Fryklind revealed she’s nervous about Alina and Mal’s future in the second season, as they’re both on the run. In the new season’s teaser photos, Alina and Mal can be seen holding hands while in the land called Novyi Zem. “They’re certainly not in the same place as they were in season one,” Heisserer teased. “They’ve made some pretty big decisions together that they soon discover means they’re all or nothing, and that puts a lot of stress on each other.
