With no choice left but to go, Riko and her friends decided to follow Majikaja. It turns out, Majikaja is a narehate whose body is made of smells. It guided Riko and the others throughout the colorful yet mysterious village of the Hollows. Surprisingly, the village does not have any of the abyss’s force fields. While Riko can ascend without worrying about the curse afflicting her body, Nanachi loses its sense of consciousness. The reason behind this abnormality in the sixth layer is still unknown. Fortunately, Riko and the others were able to find Prushka. Her whistle has been taken by an old-looking narehate. While Reg starts to get mad about the narehate’s wrongdoing, Riko stops him after knowing that Prushka doesn’t mind it. However, they still don’t know who among the narehate is the true culprit. In the village, Riko discovers that there is a marketplace where the narehate barter things and non-things. According to Majikaja, the narehate village has a huge concept of value. While Riko saw a piece of her mother’s notes for trade, Majikaja informs her that she can’t have it since she doesn’t have any value on hand. However, Majikaja pointed out that Riko is the most valuable person in the village. When it comes to trading, human children have the highest value. Despite Majikaja’s best efforts, Riko turned down the narehate’s offer to buy her instead. According to Majikaja, the narehate who are currently residing in the village are people who ventured into the abyss. Their narehate form represents their utmost desire. This made Nanachi think about its hollow state. They venture towards the end of the marketplace. However, numerous narehate began to surround them. While Riko and the others were safe, Meinya was picked up by a pink and fluffy narehate. Even though the narehate appeared to be harmless, it made Meinya squeeze its butt guts out, much to Riko’s chagrin. Nanachi pushed Meinya’s butt guts back to help it recover from its injury. A shadow-like entity then appeared and haunted the fluffy pink narehate who had harmed Meinya. The shadow-like entity turns out to be the balancing event that protects the entire village. Because the pink fluffy narehate harmed something more valuable, it must be restored once and for all. Following the balancing, Riko is given some coins that the narehate used for barter. Despite her disdain, Riko used the coins to rent an inn and buy food in the village. While the inn is quite nice, the toilets and food are in a dilapidated state. Despite this, Riko chose to eat with Reg and Nanachi. Riko began to complain of a stomachache a few minutes later. Reg decided to come out and look for something to help Nanachi because of Riko’s condition. The commotion outside the inn, however, alarmed them both. According to Majikaja, Faputa, the princess of the hollows, will appear.
