The new collab was announced by Burger King Japan via a dedicated website. It was also shared by the official Spy x Family Twitter account. Specifically, this collab features three new burgers, all of which feature peanut butter in reference to peanuts being Anya’s favorite food. Along with menu items, the collab also features special goods that will be given with each meal purchase.
Spy x Family Collabs
Anime collabs aren’t new, especially in Japan. Much more so for Spy x Family which has already seen lots of collaborations thanks to its incredible popularity, including those with Lawson and Uniqlo. In case you haven’t seen it yet, Spy x Family is an anime series by Wit Studio and CloverWorks that is based on the manga of the same name by Tatsuya Endo. The manga began serialization in Jump+ back in March 2019. The manga is one of Jump+’s biggest hits, with the series having over 26.5 million copies in circulation as of October 2022. Its anime adaptation is also one of the biggest of the year as it continually topped the most-streamed charts. Its story follows Twilight, a spy for the country of Westalis. His next mission tasks him to go undercover in the neighboring country of Ostania. There, he takes on the alias of Loid Forger, adopts an orphan named Anya, and marries a city hall clerk named Yor. Unbeknownst to him, Yor is an assassin called Thorn Princess. Meanwhile, Anya is a telepath, which means she is the only one who knows the truth about their fake family.
Burger King x Spy x Family Collab
This Burger King collab features three burgers with peanut butter: a Royale with bacon, a Royale with an extra chicken patty, and a Royale with what seems to be berry jam. While peanut butter is not a typical burger condiment, it makes sense given Anya’s love for peanuts. Aside from these burgers, the collab also features a set of Spy x Family-themed paper aprons and stickers. Each purchase of a Peanut Butter Royale meal set in stores will come with either a free apron or a sticker, with the design being given at random. This Burger King collab will be available from October 21 to November 17, 2022, in Japan only. Freebies will also be available only until supplies last.
