Now, a new group known as the Division Zero or Squad Zero, or as the English dub puts it, the Royal Special Task Force, has taken center stage, and as expected, fans who haven’t read Tite Kubo’s shonen manga series, want to know more about the new squad.
The latest episode of Bleach: TYBW revealed that the secret squad has been keep away in secret for a good reason. Their purpose is to protect the Soul King, the absolute ruler of the afterlife. Division Zero also protects the Royal Family and the Royal Palace at large. Zero Division consists of Shinigami who made major contributions to Soul Society. The Soul King made them join his special security team, and there are currently five members, including Tenjiro Kirinji, Ichibe Hyosube, Kirio Hikifune, Oetsu Nimaiya, and Senjumaru Shutara. Up until now, the Soul King demanded the group to stay out of the affairs of the Gotei 13. However, that mandate is changing, following Yhwach’s rise of power. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is now available to stream on Hulu and Disney+.
